Yesterday evening, Duncan and I decided to go on Bison Hillock at dawn because we found a place when we were up for the tree inventory, that we know we have to experience at sunrise. So today we woke up very early, prepared all we needed the night before (Lupa was around and helped up pack  😛 sssst! she was in fact sleeping, but her presence helped). This morning at cca. 5.00 a.m. we left from home, pretty sleepy but excited for the trip. We walked through the forest for more than 40 minutes in complete darkness and we could almost taste the silence. Around 6.20 we arrived at our ”strategic sunrise spot”. We sat under an apple tree, watched the moon while drinking hot tea. When the first signs of the sunrise began to appear in the sky, the clouds started to change their colours, the area gradually lit, and we suddenly became puzzled: do we capture the sunrise with our eyes or with our cameras. The moment was quite immense.

Oh well, here’s that moment in all its splendor. We sat an watched the clouds slowly passing and the whole morning unfolding. It was so far one the most beautiful morning we’ve had since our time in the hillock…
