Among our day to day monitoring activities, dung plays an important role. Collection and analysis of their feces is the most precise way to find out what they eat and to what extent they have parasites. To be able to cover a wide area of the Bison Hillock, we divided into four teams and followed four paths with recent bison tracks. Our team went into area no. 4 (near Ferecata cabin and the beautiful waterfall we showed you a glimpse of a little while ago). On our way, we met a deer with its baby deer and a very busy woodpecker. We also had a short encounter with bison (not take more than 5 min as soon after they ran into the forest) but it was spot on as we had the chance to collect the freshest dung 🙂
