In the previous post, I’ve told you how inspiring it is to walk through the forests surrounding the Țarcu Mountains. Yet this is only a small part of our day to day lives in the Bison Hillock. In the past few days we installed camera traps that will show us more about the bison’s behavior – from interactions in the heard (from communication, to fights to play), feeding habits and more. Tracking bison is fun and if you come across them… quite epic. But from the point of view of ethology, or behavioural science, once you are noticed or sensed the behaviour of wild animals changes completely. So, in reality it’s these gadgets that give us the best glimpses of how the wild ones are. In the pictures here is Duncan and Alba, part of our Young Professionals task-force working for the bison this fall.
