In the bison hillock the snow cover has reached 50 cm and the herd has made a fascinating network of paths. The “maze” starts in the veterinary control area, where they sometimes come down to get extra food and stretches far and wide in the 150 hectares acclimatisation area. It’s clear that they can’t stop exploring the wilderness!
Following these paths we can easily observe and analyse their daily activities – where they eat, where they drink and where they put their head down for the night. We have to admit that monitoring their behaviour is a piece of cake in winter wonderland.
